Bittersweet crit today. I learned that I still have many things to learn about composition and subtleties in my work. I'm glad for it, I like this challenge. It's still a bummer though, nobody wants to be told they approached something incorrectly, and in the presence of some of the more experienced students in my class, it's kind of embarassing? Hehe idk. But humble is good! And it actually is a relief to receive some constructive crit, because since I've been steadily practicing and honing my skill, I've rarely been negatively critiqued, so I haven't really know where I needed to improve. So this is good. Hard to hear, but good.
I'm going to put this new drive toward the next project and show the professor, my peers, as well as myself, that I can become an illustrator SCAD will be proud of :)
The professor took our projects, so I'll post a picture when I can. I did an almost all-nighter last night, and until I took that five hour nap, I was running on 1 hour of sleep with an 8 am class that lasts for 2 1/2 hours! >__<
I went out with some friends and definitely cleared my head and now I'm ready to tackle the rest of my homework.
